Deep Dark Blue

She climbs the stairs

And moves the hair from her face

She wonders why

She has to keep up this pace.

 

Arriving by the light of the moon

The morning sky is deep, dark blue,

 

If no one sees her

Then she can’t be late

When no ones watching

There are no mistakes.

 

She smiles so politely at you

She looks good in deep, dark blue.

 

Well. She’s dancing ‘round the world alone.

like the little girl of long ago.

She’s dancing all alone…

 

There are no windows

For her thoughts to escape

But she has dreams inside

Waiting to wake.

 

No one’s to blame that they don’t have a clue.

The walls are painted deep, dark…

 

In another minute

She’ll call it a day.

Back down the stairs

Her shadow shows her the way.

 

She’s leaving by the light of the moon.

The evening sky is deep, dark blue.
